What’s in a name?

MUMS stands for Moms Understanding Moms.  Although we’re not particularly British, this common term for mother borrowed from across the Atlantic also has multiple associations that align with our values:  

“Mums the word” -- The MUMS community is a place where moms can share life with one another in an open yet confidential setting.

Mums (Chrysanthemums) – this floral image represents cheerfulness, optimism, rest, truth, long life (health), and joy.  We hope to cultivate these and other maternal blessings both within the MUMS community, and to our community through outreach/service events.

Is MUMS for me?

MUMS is a ministry for mothers of all ages and faiths.  Our hope is that MUMS will be a place where mothers will love and encourage one another through all stages of motherhood.  MUMS is a safe place for mothers of different faith-postures; for followers of Jesus, learners, doubters, or skeptics -- all are loved and embraced at MUMS.  

Details?

MUMS meets at Trinity Church on the third Tuesday of each month from 7-9pm.  Childcare is provided for a minimal fee.  Although the MUMS agenda is pretty flexible, in general we enjoy snacks, conversation, and a helpful talk on some aspect of life as a mother.

MUMS ladies also enjoy many informal, smaller get-togethers throughout the month (play dates, coffee, lunch...).
