Trinity’s Cohort is a band of men who gather regularly to accelerate their growth as Christ-followers.
In our culture men gather around sports, entertainment and shared interests. Trinity’s cohort exists for men to gather and grow in their understanding of the gospel, with the help of community, for the glory of Christ. When we grow in isolation (lone rangers reading cool books by ourselves) we grow lopsided; we grow in certain disciplines and applications but not in others. When we grow in community we round each other out; we grow in areas that we would have overlooked alone.
In Trinity’s Cohort, each man crafts an individualized learning contract like the one below. The contract addresses his calling (God’s call for his life), heart (inner man), head (knowledge) and hands (service).
A typical meeting will have several men sharing various aspects of their learning contract, followed by encouragements and prayer. Each meeting also consists of a talk that focuses on a relevant topic for men.

CALLING (understanding God’s call on your life): This area relates to your sense of God’s call on your life as you presently understand it.
CHARACTER (heart) goals: These might be more difficult to write but may be among the most significant aspects of your personal growth. Such a goal might be to “become more patient with people with whom I don’t necessarily connect or agree.”
COMPETENCY (hands) goals: This would include all aspects of practical ministry experience. Examples of a competency outcome would be “learn to lead a community group” or “schedule to have a meal w/ non-Christians during the month.”
CONTENT (head) goals: This would be a personal track of learning and growth. An example might be “learning more about being a godly husband”, which may include reading through the “godly husband passages” weekly and reading all of the notes in the ESV Study Bible about them.
